Dale Underwriting names Daniel as global property reinsurance head
Dale Underwriting Partners – the trading name for Syndicate 1729 – has appointed Paul Daniel as head of global property reinsurance.
Daniel will join the firm on 28 October from Berkley Re, where he served as head of international short-tail treaty.
Prior to Berkley Re, he spent 22 years at Talbot Underwriting, including as head of treaty for property, aviation and specialty. His career has also included stints at GE Oatley and JH Venton Syndicate.
Active underwriter Ian Bridge said: “[Daniel’s] wealth of experience in successfully navigating the reinsurance cycle with sustained top tier profits will help to further enhance our lead capabilities within the treaty team and position us strongly to build our broker and client proposition to grow this portfolio in line with our strategy.”
Daniel has replaced Will Curran, who recently exited to join Guy Carpenter after joining the firm in March as its global property head. Bridge replaced former active underwriter Dominic Peters in June 2024, who stepped away after three years in the role.
