Sunak dilutes UK net-zero timelines for electric vehicles and heat pumps

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced he will not ban new oil and gas projects in the North Sea, describing such a pledge as “unnecessary and heavy-handed”, while still affirming that the UK will meet its target to be at net zero by 2050.
