Stonegate suit highlights mounting costs of BI with $1.5bn+ in claims to be tested in UK courts

News that the UK’s largest pub group Stonegate has increased its High Court claim to almost £1.1bn ($1.36bn) in its case against insurers MS Amlin, Liberty Mutual and Zurich is the latest sign that uncertainty over Covid-19 business interruption (BI) exposures remains, with a series of potentially expensive cases set to be heard in summer 2022.
