Morph arrives on Lime Street to raise funds for young wheelchair users
Visitors to Lime Street this week will be greeted by a sculpture of iconic plasticine television star Morph, part of a new art trail created to raise funds for a charity supporting young wheelchair users.
The sculpture of the character, who accompanied children’s television presenter Tony Hart in a series of programmes from the 1970s to the 1990s, is part of an art trail of 56 Morph figures placed in iconic London locations.
The art trail has been created by Whizz-Kidz, a leading UK charity supporting young wheelchair users.
The charity aims to support young people by providing wheelchairs, equipment, support and confidence-building experiences.
The art trail is aiming to raise more than £500,000 for Whizz-Kidz, as well as engaging schools across London through its learning programme and showcasing professional, emerging and disabled artists.
Each of the Morphs has been uniquely painted with a story behind each design.
Several major insurance industry names have supported the art trail by serving as sculpture sponsors, including Aon, Ascot, Brit, Chaucer and WTW.
Morph’s Epic Art Adventure London runs until 20 August. For more details, visit: https://www.morphsadventurelondon.com/
