Illinois judge allows “bellwether” Covid-19 cases against Society to proceed

An Illinois district court has denied Society Insurance’s motions to dismiss three Covid-19 business interruption (BI) cases that are part of a multidistrict litigation (MDL) proceeding, with the judge ruling a reasonable jury could find the plaintiffs had suffered direct physical loss of property on their premises.
