Aon appoints Blazquez Solano as Reinsurance Solutions’ Brazil CEO

Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions has appointed Isabel Blazquez Solano as CEO of Brazil, The Insurer can reveal.

Blazquez Solano joined the broker last year as an executive director, having previously spent nine years with state-backed reinsurer IRB Re, latterly as chief underwriting officer.

Prior to joining IRB, Blazquez Solano served as treaty underwriter for Central and Eastern Europe at Mapfre Re, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She will be based in Rio de Janeiro for the new role, with responsibility for the broker’s offices in Rio and São Paulo.

Blazquez Solano will report to Paula Ferreira, Latin America CEO at Reinsurance Solutions.

Miami-based Ferreira has served as regional CEO since April 2022. She previously served as strategic growth leader for Reinsurance Solutions in the region, having joined the broker from rival Guy Carpenter in 2009.
