Allstate books $466mn in Q1 cat losses as hands reinsurers $1.1bn bill

US carrier Allstate has reported after-tax net losses of $466mn for the first quarter of 2021 as the insurer offset its exposure to winter storms and other nat cats through $1.08bn in reinsurance and subrogation recoveries.
